Hello, we are Liza and Stephen! 

​ 

We met at college in Beginner Spanish class where one of us received an “A” and the other a “B.” Soon after, we married and traveled the traditional way. Working for months and asking permission to go on vacation for a week. Despite the many places we have been, like most people, we could only go for a short window. We always wanted more. To drink the culture, not just sip it. We were grateful for the opportunity to go, but it never felt like enough. We knew there had to be a better way…

The pivotal moment came when after years of working for a company, it was acquired and there would be layoffs. We realized our jobs could dictate when and how long we went on vacation AND control our livelihoods. How do we gain our interdependence?  

​

We at once threw ourselves into learning everything we could about personal finance and changing our financial mindset. We focused on increasing our income, decreasing our debt, and investing the difference. We started to wonder…instead of working full-time and vacationing part-time, is there a way to do the opposite, or even better, just live? A couple of years later, we did it. We can now travel full-time!

We always wanted to discover unfamiliar places, new passions and let our feet wander. To be on the move without borders…to live life on our terms!  

​

As we gained insights, we discussed ways in which we could improve things in hindsight. What if we had better information when we started?  So, we decided to create something to share this information and that is how On The Move with Liza and Stephen was born.
